Privacy at a glance
Your team's data is not our training data.
We do not use customer data—including personal information, rosters, messages, photos, activities, or other customer content—to train our algorithms, whether AI-based or not.
- We do not sell personal information.
- We do not show advertising in Kinetiq One today.
- If we ever do, we will not show personalized advertising to anyone under 18, and we will not show advertising of any kind to children under 13.
- We use information to provide, secure, support, and improve Kinetiq One.
1. Scope
This Privacy Policy applies to the Kinetiq One website, mobile applications, and related services (together, the “Services”). It applies to players, parents and guardians, family members, coaches, staff, team administrators, spectators, website visitors, and anyone else who uses the Services.
Teams and their administrators may decide what information to add to Kinetiq One and who may access it. Their own privacy notices and practices may also apply to information they collect outside the Services.
2. Information we collect
Information you or your team provide
- Account and profile information, such as name, email address, phone number, date of birth, password credentials, profile photo, and visibility preferences.
- Team, player, and family information, such as rosters, roles, relationships, team and family memberships, permissions, and join-code activity. A parent, guardian, coach, or team administrator may provide information about another person, including a youth athlete.
- Schedules and participation information, such as activities, locations, opponents, attendance responses, and activity views.
- Content and communications, such as chat messages, images, announcements, polls, comments, reactions, and support requests.
- Marketing information, such as an email address submitted to our waitlist.
Information collected automatically
When you use the Services, we may collect device and browser information, IP address, app version, identifiers used for login or push notifications, diagnostic and security logs, and usage information such as pages or features accessed. Our marketing website uses Google Analytics to help us understand website use. Your browser may let you limit cookies, although some features may not work as intended without them.
Information from other sources
We may receive information from team or family administrators, other authorized members, sign-in providers such as Google, and service providers that help us operate the Services. If you give us information about another person, you must be authorized to do so.
3. How we use information
We use information to:
- create and manage accounts, identities, teams, and families;
- provide schedules, rosters, chat, announcements, attendance, and related features;
- apply the roles, permissions, and visibility choices selected in the Services;
- send service messages, security notices, and requested communications;
- operate, maintain, troubleshoot, secure, and improve the Services;
- prevent fraud, abuse, and unauthorized access;
- understand product and website performance using analytics; and
- comply with law, enforce our terms, and protect people and the Services.
We do not currently use information to deliver advertising. If that changes, the limits described in “Advertising and age limits” below will govern how information may be used for that purpose.
Where applicable law requires a legal basis, we process information as needed to provide the Services you request, based on our legitimate interests in operating and securing the Services, with your consent, or to comply with legal obligations.
5. Advertising and age limits
Kinetiq One does not display advertising today, and we do not sell personal information or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. We may introduce advertising in the future. If we do, the following commitments apply.
Age-based protections
We require a date of birth when an account is created, and player profiles carry a date of birth as well. We use age for team eligibility and age-appropriate features—and we rely on it to apply the advertising protections below. Age is calculated from the date of birth on file rather than stored as a fixed number, so these protections follow a person as they get older.
- Under 13.We will not show advertising of any kind to a child under 13, personalized or otherwise, and we will not disclose a child's personal information to advertisers, advertising networks, or data brokers.
- Ages 13 through 17.We will not show personalized advertising to a minor. This means no behavioral advertising, no retargeting, no cross-context tracking, no advertising profiles or audience segments, and no sale or sharing of a minor's personal information for advertising. Any advertising a teen sees would be contextual—chosen from the content on the screen, not from who they are or what they have done.
- Adults 18 and over. We may use personal information for personalized advertising, subject to notice and the choices described below.
Because families share teams and devices, these limits are applied based on the age of the account holder who is signed in. We do not use a child's information to build an advertising profile of an adult in their family.
What we may use for advertising to adults
If we introduce advertising, we may use or disclose the following categories of information about adults 18 and over for that purpose: identifiers such as a hashed email address, device or advertising identifiers, and IP address; demographic information such as age range and general location; precise location information where you have granted permission; information about your interests, activity, and interactions with the Services and with ads; commercial and transaction information; and inferences drawn from that information. We may work with advertising partners, measurement providers, and identity providers to do so.
Notice, consent, and your choices
We will not begin advertising quietly. Before we introduce personalized advertising, we will update this policy, revise the effective date, and provide advance notice through the Services or by email. Where the law requires consent, we will obtain it before using your information for advertising, and we will not apply a new advertising use to information already collected except as permitted by law and any notice or consent it requires.
To be clear about what these choices do and do not cover: advertising, if introduced, would be part of how the Services are provided, and there would be no setting to turn advertising off. If you do not want to see advertising at all, your choice is to stop using the Services, or to purchase an ad-free plan if one is offered at that time.
What you can always control is whether advertising shown to you is personalized. If we ever sell or share personal information for advertising, or engage in targeted advertising as those terms are defined by applicable law, we will offer the opt-out mechanisms the law requires, including a “Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information” choice and recognition of browser-based opt-out preference signals such as Global Privacy Control where required. Exercising that right changes how advertising is selected for you—it does not remove advertising from the Services, and you would continue to see contextual advertising chosen from the content on the screen. You will always be able to email us to exercise these choices, and we will not discriminate against you for doing so.
Regardless of any future change, we will continue not to use customer content—including rosters, messages, photos, and activities—to train our algorithms, whether AI-based or not.
6. Your choices and rights
You can update certain profile details and visibility settings in the Services. Depending on where you live, you may also have the right to request access to, correction of, deletion of, or a copy of your personal information; object to or restrict certain processing; withdraw consent; or appeal our response to a request.
To make a privacy request, email admin@kinetiqone.com. We may need to verify your identity and authority before acting. A parent or legal guardian may make a request for their child. We will not discriminate against you for exercising a privacy right.
We do not sell personal information, share it for cross-context behavioral advertising, or use it for targeted advertising. We therefore do not currently offer an opt-out for practices we do not perform. If that ever changes, we will provide the notice, consent, and opt-out mechanisms described in “Advertising and age limits” above.
7. Children and youth athletes
Kinetiq One is built for sports teams and families, so the Services may contain information about children. A parent, legal guardian, or other authorized adult may create or manage a youth athlete's player information. Children under 13 may not create their own Kinetiq One account or submit personal information directly to us.
If you believe a child under 13 has provided personal information directly without appropriate authorization, contact us. We will investigate and delete the information when required. Team and family members should only add youth information they are authorized to provide and should use the Services' permissions and visibility controls carefully.
8. Retention and security
We retain information for as long as needed to provide the Services, maintain team and family records, comply with legal and accounting obligations, resolve disputes, prevent abuse, and enforce agreements. Retention periods vary by the type of information and why we hold it. Some content or audit records may remain after an account is deactivated when needed for team continuity, safety, or legal obligations. Backup copies may remain for a limited period before being overwritten.
We use administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect information, including access controls and encrypted network connections. Private photos and chat images are stored in non-public storage and accessed through time-limited, authorized links. No system is perfectly secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
9. International transfers
Kinetiq One and its service providers may process information in the United States and other countries. Those countries may have different privacy laws from where you live. When required, we use appropriate safeguards for international transfers.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy as the Services or applicable laws change. We will post the updated version here and revise the effective date. If a change materially affects your rights, we will provide additional notice when required by law.
