One thing that makes Kinetiq special to me is that it wasn’t dreamed up by people looking at youth sports from the outside.
Kinetiq Team was built by a coach and a mom.
We know what it feels like to run a team, and we know what it feels like to run a family around youth sports. Those are two very different experiences, and a great team platform has to work for both.
As a coach, I want powerful tools that help my staff and me stay organized without creating more administrative work. Sometimes I need to make a quick update from my phone. Other times I’m sitting at a computer building out a season, managing a roster, or handling something that deserves a bigger screen.
Parents and families need something different. They need clarity. They need the right information at the right time without having to dig for it.
Kinetiq Team is being designed around both.
A team isn't connected if only one parent is connected
This was one of the biggest opportunities we saw.
Youth sports are family activities, but most team software still treats a family almost like a single account.
That’s not how families actually work.
There may be two parents, siblings, grandparents, caretakers, and eventually players themselves who all need different levels of access and visibility.
With Kinetiq Team, every person can have their own identity.
A parent shouldn't have to forward every schedule change to their spouse. A grandparent shouldn't need to text someone every Friday asking where the game is. And as kids get older, they should be able to take more responsibility for their own schedules and communication.
At the same time, families should remain in control of what information they choose to share.
That combination—more connected, while still giving families control—is something I'm especially excited about.
Coaches should spend more time coaching
Every coach knows how quickly the administrative side of a team can grow.
One message becomes ten conversations. A schedule changes. Someone misses the notification. A parent asks a question that was answered three days ago. Coaches end up acting as the information hub for an entire organization.
We want Kinetiq Team to remove as much of that friction as possible.
That means making important information easy to find. It means timely push notifications that actually help people stay on top of what matters. It means giving coaches and staff a strong mobile experience when they're on the court and a powerful web experience when they're doing the heavier work of managing a team.
The goal isn't to give coaches more software to manage.
The goal is to give coaches time back.
Youth sports deserves modern software
We've all become accustomed to incredibly polished technology in the rest of our lives.
The apps we use every day are fast. They're intuitive. They feel thoughtfully designed.
I don't think youth sports should have to settle for less.
From the beginning, we wanted Kinetiq Team to feel modern: clean, fast, easy to understand, and designed around the way people actually use their phones today.
And just as importantly, we don't want every useful feature to immediately lead to another paywall.
We want coaches, players, and families to be able to use a genuinely great product, with more of the things teams actually need included.
Because when you're building for youth sports, the question shouldn't always be, "How much can we charge for this feature?"
Sometimes the better question is, "Would this make life easier for a coach or a family?"
We're just getting started
What excites me most about Kinetiq One is that we're building something we actually want to use ourselves.
I can look at Kinetiq Team and picture my own teams using it. I can picture my players taking more ownership. I can picture parents feeling more connected. And I can picture coaches getting back hours that they'd rather spend preparing for practice, working with players, or simply being with their own families.
That's an incredibly motivating feeling as a founder.
We have a lot we want to build, and Kinetiq Team is only the beginning.
But everything starts with a simple idea:
Youth sports technology should make it easier for coaches to coach, players to participate, and families to be part of the experience.
That's the company we wanted to build.
And I couldn't be more excited to finally bring it to teams.
